Owners Manual Description
2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Owners Manual
The 2020 Atlas Cross Sport is a brand-new addition to the portfolio, occupying the same segment as the conventional Atlas upon which it is built.
We would recommend the SE with the Technology package. It has automatic climate control, faux-leather upholstery, passive entry, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and an 8.0-inch touchscreen.
2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Engine and Performance
We have tried the 235-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and the 276-horsepower 3.6-liter V-6 in the three-row Atlas, but not the more petite and theoretically lighter Atlas Cross Sport. We anticipate it to be slightly quicker than the Atlas, which reached 60 mph in 7.1 seconds with front-wheel drive and a four-cylinder engine and in 7.9 seconds with all-wheel drive and a V-6.
We recently tested a front-wheel-drive Cross Sport SE with a V-6 engine and found that it lacked the sporty driving qualities that its fastback rear end would suggest. Likewise, the ride quality is less smooth than anticipated, as the wheels appear to pound over every flaw and pothole.
2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Interior
Those familiar with the three-row Atlas will recognize the cabin of the Atlas Cross Sport, despite the revised steering wheel and embroidered door panels. Adults should be able to find comfortable seating in either of the SUV’s available rows of seats. However, unlike in a standard automobile, the SUV’s second-row seats are arranged differently.
Atlas, the Cross Sport’s second-row features solely bench seating. We anticipate that the Cross Sport will provide comparable cargo space to the Ford Edge and Hyundai Santa Fe. However, we have not yet determined how many carry-on suitcases will fit.
