Owners Manual Description
2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Owners Manual
The Atlas Cross Sport is a compact crossover SUV that can accommodate up to five passengers. Seven trim levels are offered for the 2022 model year: SE, SE with Technology, SEL, SEL R-Line Black, SEL R-Line, SEL Premium, and SEL Premium R-Line. It’s a complicated lineup, so please read the descriptions below to help you comprehend what’s being offered.
2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Performance
Volkswagen provides two engine options for the Atlas Cross Sport: a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four or a 3.6-liter V-6. The former has 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, while the latter has 276 horsepower and 266 pound-feet.
Unfortunately, both strategies deliver unimpressive results. Both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are available on the Atlas Cross Sport, and both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The fuel economy is also unimpressive. The 2022 Atlas Cross Sport with a four-cylinder engine achieves 21/25 mpg city/highway or 20/24 mpg with AWD. The V-6 SUV is rated at 18/24 mpg in both FWD and AWD configurations.
2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Safety
The NHTSA awards the FWD and AWD versions of the Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport five stars for safety. Four stars were awarded for the frontal crash test, five for the side crash test, and four for the rollover test.
All models include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and rear cross-traffic alert. The base model lacks additional equipment, but upgrading to the SE with Technology has adaptive cruise control and front and rear parking sensors. SEL models and higher include lane departure warning and automatic high lights. The SEL Premium trim level offers a 360-degree camera system.
