2018 Volkswagen Tiguan Limited Owners Manual
Volkswagen is selling both the old and new Tiguan under the Limited moniker. The completely redesigned Tiguan is more prominent, has a third-row seat as an option, and comes with additional safety measures. The 2018 Tiguan Limited is a further option.
2018 Volkswagen Tiguan Limited Safety Features
Anti-lock brakes
ABS brakes detect when a tire has stopped rotating under intense braking conditions and regulate the brake pressure to allow the tire to continue spinning. This improves the vehicle’s ability to turn under braking conditions.
Stability control
When the vehicle’s handling limits are surpassed, stability control automatically decreases engine power and applies select brakes to assist the driver in maintaining vehicle control.
Front-impact airbags
The driver and front passenger airbags have been intended to protect the head during a frontal collision.
Side impact airbags
Front side-impact airbags are designed to protect the torso in a side-impact collision.
Overhead airbags
The purpose of overhead airbags is to protect the occupants’ heads in the case of a side impact or rollover.
Pretensioners
Seatbelt pretensioners tighten seatbelts to put occupants in the optimal seating position during a crash.
Security system
The car has a system for predicting and detecting unauthorized vehicle entry. The vehicle is equipped with an ignition disable device that prevents the engine from starting without the correct key from the original manufacturer.
