Owners Manual Description
2020 Volkswagen Jetta Owners Manual
Volkswagen has made several minor improvements to the Jetta lineup for 2020. Every model features the most recent Car-Net infotainment system, including a Wi-Fi hotspot accessible via subscription.
The SE and R-Line models now offer the Cold Weather Package, including the steering wheel’s remote start and heating elements, rear seats, washer nozzles, and windshield wipers. In addition, the SEL and SEL Premium come standard with newly standard 17-inch wheels and wireless smartphone charging.
2020 Volkswagen Jetta Fuel Economy
Despite being less athletic than its hatchback counterpart, the Jetta is more fuel-efficient. The EPA estimates that the sedan will achieve 30 city mpg and 40 highway mpg, whereas the Golf is rated at 29 city mpg and 37 highway mpg. On our 200-mile highway fuel-economy route, we tested Jettas with both transmissions, which exceeded expectations.
On the highway, the automatic version achieved 43 mpg, while a Jetta with a manual transmission achieved an astounding 48 mpg. Comparatively, the last Civic sedan we evaluated fell short of its highway rating by one mpg, achieving 41 mpg.
2020 Volkswagen Jetta Safety
In all six crash tests, the 2020 Volkswagen Jetta received the highest Good rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Jetta SEL and SEL Premium models received the second-lowest rating of Marginal for their headlights’ ability to illuminate the road ahead. In contrast, all other models received the lowest rating of Poor.
The IIHS employs a different grading system for collision avoidance features. Superior is the highest rating for Jetta’s available vehicle-to-vehicle front crash prevention system.
